Information about…
Dyed with organic homegrown Weld and Madder on a beautifully soft totally British aran base, commercially spun in Yorkshire from British Shetland sheep. Apricot aran British Shetland yarn is hand-dyed using minimal input method based on over 3,000 years of sustainable dyeing. A delicious colour that links the yellows and reds/pink together to give whatever you are creating a stunningly subtle design.
What the yarn is great for
This is my go to yarn for knitting, crochet, tapestry weaving and other crafts. It is fun to play with and the colours I achieve with the natural dyes are fabulous!
Environmental Impact
If you are looking for an ethical product with a low carbon footprint, look no further.
The key points:
- British grown and processed yarn
- Soap is bio-degradable
- Dyed with homegrown organic plant dyes
Be aware
Once a specific colour is gone, it is gone! Due to the nature of natural dyes (the dye pigment varies with weather and time of day it is harvested), it is impossible to exactly colour match, although I can get close. Therefore, if you see something you love don’t hesitate to buy and make sure you order enough for your project.
The colours in the photos are the best match I can make, but there is variation between screens and devices.
If you see a colour you particularly like and there is insufficient available for you project, please contact me and I will provide you with a custom order for the amount you need. There may be a slight colour difference, but we can discuss this.
